Justin Emerich Joins Brass
Septermber 5, 2005 - Toronto

We are really pleased to announce that trumpeter Justin Emerich
has joined Canadian Brass. He is already well known to the Brass,
having been at the Music Academy of the West in 2000 during the
groups first year in residence there. Justin made a really
strong impression on us then, performing brilliantly on all the
trumpets, and doing so on several of our own showstoppers like the
legendary Dedrick Penny Lane arrangement.
Having followed his career since our meeting, we could not have
been happier when he accepted the invitation to take over the trumpet
chair originally occupied by Fred Mills and most recently by Josef
Burgstaller.
Justin brings a wealth of performing experience to Canadian Brass.
A native of California, Justin earned degrees from the Harid Conservatory
/ Lynn School of Music and the prestigious Juilliard School. He
has performed extensively with orchestras such as the Metropolitan
Opera Orchestra and the Seattle Symphony and recently performed
Wagners Ring Cycle with the Seattle Opera.
Justin has worked on Broadway, performed with Diana Ross at the
2000 US Open Womens Finals and toured internationally with
the European chart-topping Pink Martini.
For two summers he studied at the Music Academy of the West, Santa
Barbara, where he studied with Canadian Brass and legendary orchestral
trumpeter Adolf Herseth. Since 2001 Justin has also performed in
America and the Far East with Burning River Brass. The globe-trotting
trumpeter has now moved to Toronto.
