Ryan Anthony Bids FarewellSeptember 3, 2003 - Toronto
Ryan brought a wonderful sense of style and musicianship to the group, as well as a keen understanding of the role he wanted to play in the group, having studied our work while still a teenager --You all may recall that we first met and heard Ryan when conducting a workshop in California in the 80's!. Even though Ryan is leaving "active duty" with us, we are already discussing ways we can collaborate in the future. Ryan will be missed by us all. We will endeavor to keep all our fans up to date on Ryan's musical activities--I know we all want to follow Ryan's career and want to be part of his continuing success.

Anthony, distinguished colleague and close friend, is leaving Canadian
Brass after three years with the group. The other four of us realized
the inevitability of his decision as we watched his family begin
to grow. Just after joining, Ryan and wife Niki had their first
child. That coupled with the fact that it was impossible to join
the rest of us in Toronto made his touring, rehearsing and meetings
all "away from home" events.
